Brendan Guinness




Brendan has a wide portfolio of clients and specialises in defence civil litigation and commercial litigation and arbitration. Allied to this he is also involved in corporate manslaughter and HSC investigations.  Brendan also has a keen interest in commercial transactions generally including company acquisition and disposal, and is a key advisor to a major waste management company.  

Brendan Guinness qualified as a Solicitor having studied law at Queens University of Belfast and at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 1986 and became a Partner in 1995.  Brendan has 25 years experience in private practice and has a wide ranging and diverse client base which includes the following:-

• Defence litigation for both insurance companies and commercial clients.
• Company law to include acquisitions, disposals, shareholder agreements and disputes, corporate manslaughter and health and safety prosecutions.
• Banking law and is presently advising on the implications of the NAMA legislation on loans held by Irish Banks in Northern Ireland for leading Northern Irish businessmen.
• Licensing law which included acting in the largest sale of licensed premises in Northern Ireland.
• A key advisor to leading corporate businesses/companies in Northern Ireland including waste management, food processing and manufacturing companies.
• Medical negligence.
